Mona is a charter member of the Portumna & District Lions Club which was first formed in 1997. She is currently serving as Chairperson of ‘Zone G’ for Lions Clubs Ireland which includes clubs in Loughrea, Galway City, Ennis, Tuam, Shannon, Ballinasloe and Portumna. In 2021/22, when we were honored with ‘Club of the Year’, Mona served her second term as President, having had this role previously in 2015. She has also served in roles of Secretary and Treasurer.
She is passionate about spreading kindness in our community in an inclusive way and to involve all the surrounding parishes in the district.

Patricia is a member of our club for 22 years. She is a first time President this year, having served as Treasurer on three previous occasions. The role of President has allowed her to venture on a diverse and interesting path ‘TO SERVE’, enjoying the dynamics of working with the team with the same objectives and vision!

Susan joined our Lions Club in March 2021 and was elected Treasurer in September 2022. She is passionate about promoting the Lions Club’s humanitarian causes in her local community and has a particular interest in disability advocacy and spreading awareness more broadly in society.

Margaret is a relatively new member to the club who joined in May 2020.  She is the newly elected Secretary to the Club and will serve for 2 years.  She has taken part in past and present projects like the Peace Poster Competition, the Christmas Food Appeal and Library Parcels.

Áine is a member of the Lions Club since 2013, serving her second year as Treasurer and has previously held the role of Secretary. Being a member of Lions Club brings a feeling of belonging to a group of like minded people that are willing to dedicate their time and support to other people within the community. She is willing to give her energy and resources in service to others
